"Not only are all of her bakes beautiful and delicious, but this small business is so well organized and professional it will make planning your big day or special event a breeze. I would highly recommend Skye's Artisan Bakes for all of your confectionery needs."

As of right now, no! Hopefully in the future, some items might be able to be shipped. Sadly cakes will probably never be shipped.
Yes I do! Delivery costs are priced individually based on location and items being delivered. Tiered cakes cost more to deliver than cookies, for example. Most on-site setup, however, does not cost extra.
Generally, it is never too early to order a wedding cake. The more notice the better! However, 4-6 months in advance is standard. For party cakes and other treats, please try to get your order in at least 2 weeks in advance. Bottom line, as soon as you know you need something - contact us!
I currently bake from my home kitchen in Saco, ME located about 20 minutes south of Portland. We are not a retail location!
Tasting boxes are $40 each and include 4 generous samples of cake and 4 samples of buttercream/filling. You will be able to mix and match the flavors you choose in order to find what you love most! If you would like to set up a consultation, email me directly. There is no cost! Please bring any inspiration that you would like to show me.
For weddings and large events, I ask for $100 deposit as a retainer as well as a signed contract. The remaining is due up to two weeks before your event. Any changes you wish to make to your order must be sent to me before that time as well. For party cakes and orders under $100, there is no deposit necessary. Payment for these orders is due 7 days prior to the event.
Yes! Let's schedule a consultation. I usually recommend couples meet with me in person and sample some of my work before anything else. You must be already booked with Skye's to receive a sketch or any further in-depth planning.
So I know how I can best serve you! I would hate to design or create something that you love but is out of your price range. The possibilities in cake decorating are endless, but we can tailor your cake/dessert to fit within your budget and make it a masterpiece that you fall in love with. The more information you can give me about your vision and expectations, the easier it is for me to design your perfect centerpiece. If you have no idea what your budget should be, please visit our Pricing Page. I would also be happy to provide some examples of different cakes and what they cost.
Short answer, no. In the past, I have done a few decorative pieces such as names and Lego pieces in fondant for buttercream cakes. I have built my business on the standard that every cake should look as good as it tastes, and fondant never tastes as good as the inside of a cake. For me (and for several other cake lovers out there), fondant gets in the way of flavor and texture, and doesn't represent what's at the heart of a creation. I am happy to do small fondant details at extra cost, but Skye's will not cover entire cakes in fondant or do large decorated sections.
Skye's does offer gluten-free chocolate or vanilla cake, as well as a few other select flavors and cookies. Keep in mind that we are not a certified GF bakery....all of our products are made in the same facility and while we try our best to keep allergy-free products separate, there is no guarantee. Please inquire directly if there are any questions on this topic. If we do not carry something that suits your needs, I am happy to recommend a bakery that might be able to accommodate.
